This initiative, announced by the ministry\u2019s press service on\u00a0October 30, aims to address critical environmental issues within the Caspian Sea region.<\/p>\n<p>The institute\u2019s research focus will encompass several vital aspects:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Declining Water Levels<\/strong>: Understanding and mitigating the factors contributing to the Caspian Sea\u2019s decreasing water levels.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mass Mortalities of Seals and Fish<\/strong>: Investigating the causes behind seal and fish die-offs in the region.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preservation of the Caspian Seal Population<\/strong>: Efforts to safeguard this unique marine species.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coastal Areas and Marine Life<\/strong>: Comprehensive studies to protect coastal ecosystems and marine biodiversity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Moreover, the institute seeks to foster close collaboration with other Caspian states, recognizing that environmental challenges transcend national boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, attributes the institute\u2019s inception to a proposal put forth by\u00a0President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
