FARNBOROUGH, England. July 19\/PR\/ \u2013 Astronautics Corporation of America\u2019s AeroSync Max wireless airborne communication system (wACS) has been chosen as the line-fit connectivity solution for Airbus’ new H160M helicopter, a multi-role military rotorcraft derived from Airbus’ commercial H160. In December 2021, the French Armament General Directorate signed a contract with Airbus for the development and procurement of the H160M as part of its Light Joint Helicopter program.<\/p>\n

Astronautics\u2019 AeroSync Max is also the line-fit, Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency-certified connectivity solution on Airbus\u2019 H160 platform. The AeroSync Max is a hardware-partitioned and domain-segregated connectivity system, or avionics domain gateway, designed to provide ultimate security between the helicopter\u2019s avionics and the open world. Under this award, Astronautics will provide Airbus with 140 shipsets, along with cybersecurity services for ongoing security vulnerability assessments.<\/p>\n

Each AeroSync Max shipset includes Astronautics\u2019 AFS6400 airborne communication server, AFS6460 connectivity module, and AFS6480 remote media device. Together, the system provides a secure and integrated wireless data transmission system that enables the transfer of maintenance data via Wi-Fi, with data storage to create a connected ecosystem throughout all phases of flight.<\/p>\n

AeroSync Max:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Facilitates easy upload of the field loadable software through the ARINC 615A data loader function for maintenance of all equipment connected on the Ethernet network.<\/li>\n
  • Facilitates easy upload of navigation databases into the avionic equipment.<\/li>\n
  • Facilitates instant availability of airworthiness data at landing to improve scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with automatic and secure data transfer to the maintenance information system.<\/li>\n
  • Interfaces with the H160M next-generation cockpit avionics suite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
