The small boat sank after leaving the French coast, killing all but two people. French prosecutors had previously announced that 17 men, 7 women and 3 children had died. The migrant tragedy is the biggest loss of life on the channel. Four people\u00a0are\u00a0missing,\u00a0according\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0NCA.<\/p>\n<p>Prime\u00a0Minister Boris Johnson described the\u00a0death\u00a0as a\u00a0&#8220;catastrophe&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar, due to appear before the Westminster Magistrates Court, has also been charged by France with aiding illegal immigration. NCA Deputy Director Craig Turner described the arrest as &#8220;serious.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;Those\u00a0arrested\u00a0today\u00a0are\u00a0suspected of\u00a0playing\u00a0a key role in the\u00a0negligent\u00a0killing\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0dead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u00a0are\u00a0determined\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0closely with our French partners to\u00a0seek\u00a0justice for the families of those\u00a0who\u00a0lost\u00a0their\u00a0lives and\u00a0to\u00a0do\u00a0everything\u00a0in\u00a0our\u00a0power\u00a0to\u00a0dismantle the\u00a0vicious\u00a0organized\u00a0crime\u00a0networks involved in\u00a0human\u00a0smuggling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Secretary\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Interior\u00a0Suera\u00a0Braverman said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My thoughts\u00a0are\u00a0with the families of all those who tragically lost their lives in this\u00a0horrific\u00a0event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u00a0thank the NCA and other\u00a0authorities\u00a0in\u00a0the UK and France for\u00a0bringing\u00a0justice\u00a0to victims and their\u00a0families,\u00a0identifying those we\u00a0hold\u00a0responsible and\u00a0allowing\u00a0them\u00a0to\u00a0feel the full\u00a0power\u00a0of the\u00a0law.\u00a0increase.&#8221;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>London, United Kingdom (BBC NEWS) November,28- A man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of at least 27 people who drowned while trying to cross the English Channel in rubber boats last year.
