India&#8217;s defence and foreign ministries also did not respond to requests for comment while China&#8217;s foreign ministry said the situation along the border is stable.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3516\" src=\"https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension.jpg 730w, https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension-600x337.jpg 600w, https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/brusselsindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Border-tension-696x391.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report said the Indian police assessment is based on intelligence gathered by local police in the border areas.\u00a0China&#8217;s foreign ministry spokesperson said China was maintaining close communication and dialogue through various channels with India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Aksai Chin is an inseparable part of China&#8217;s territory,&#8221; the ministry said, referring to a disputed region that lies at China&#8217;s Xinjiang and Tibet and to the east of Ladakh in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the start of confrontation in 2020, China has ramped up infrastructure along the Himalayan frontier, building facilities for its soldiers deployed there, storehouses for ammunition and helipads, among others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The Indian research paper said, &#8220;Given the domestic compulsions in China and their economic interests in the region,\u00a0Liberation\u00a0Army would continue to build up its military infrastructure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and China share a 3,500 km border that has been disputed since the 1950s.
