“Kazakhstan willing to increase imports to Gulf States by up to $400 million”
Tokayev lauds strong bilateral relations, active political dialogue, and thriving trade ties
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underlined the significance of the inaugural meeting between Central Asia and Gulf Arab States’ leaders during the 1st Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit. He highlighted the mutual desire to elevate their cooperation to new heights in various domains.
President Tokayev praised the solid bilateral relations, active political dialogue, and robust trade and economic cooperation between the countries. They also share common goals in global sustainable development and maintaining security and stability.
In his vision for future cooperation, the President emphasized expanding trade and economic ties, with Kazakhstan willing to increase imports to Gulf States by up to $400 million. He also stressed the importance of accelerating investment cooperation, particularly given the significant net investment inflow to Central Asia, where 60% is directed to Kazakhstan.
The President further highlighted the development of transit and transport, energy cooperation, food security, and interregional tourism. A Joint Statement was adopted at the conclusion of the summit.
President Tokayev’s visit to Jeddah was in response to an invitation from the King of Saudi Arabia, fostering further collaboration between the two nations.
