MOSCOW/TASS/ – Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated that Russia is receptive to dialogue with the United States, but advocates for a thorough discussion encompassing all matters.
Previously, Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to Washington, announced that the Russian embassy in the United States had reached an agreement with US administration officials to deliberate on bilateral relations in the following week.
Peskov reiterated the president’s stance, “We have always been open to dialogue and believe in the necessity of a comprehensive discussion of all issues. It’s not possible to isolate some issues from the overall context that currently governs our bilateral relations. We possess the political will for dialogue, but we insist on a thorough discussion of all matters.”
Antonov further clarified that the impending discussions would focus on “bilateral relations, our coexistence, and the potential for salvaging Russian-American relations from total deterioration.” He also added that Moscow would refrain from pressuring Washington if it showed no interest in security cooperation.
