On 22nd April, A London’s literary evening scene was alive, as dozens of literature lovers, writers, poets and\u00a0 painters gathered for an exciting literary evening that held at the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in London. The event featured a mix of established and up-and-coming artists who shared their work with a captive audience.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The event kicked off with an opening speech by the hosts, Dariusz A. Zeller (poet) and Remi Juskiewicz (musician, songwriter, singer) who welcomed everyone and introduced the evening’s first guest, Malgorzata Trebicka \u2013\u00a0 the young writer who wrote a book ‘Zapach kadzidla’ (\u2018The smell of incense\u2019). \u00a0The disscution was about the plot and characters – two women who meet in London. Darek asked Malgorzata about her life in Great Britain as well.<\/p>\n

It’s great to hear that this talented writer will publishing her second book soon and that the plot will take place in her hometown in Poland.<\/p>\n

Before the next presentation, the audience had the pleasure to listen Remi Jukiewicz\u2019s songs with Dariusz A. Zeller and Aleksy Wrobel lyrics.<\/p>\n

After this, the audience applauded Bo\u017cena Krasowska \u2013 the painter. First, the artist talked over her inspirations and the role of painting in her life. Then she was asked by Darek about her painting successes and exhibitions (also international) which she participated in.<\/p>\n

Krasowska’s paintings are known for their vivid colors and expressive brushstrokes. Her subjects range landscapes and\u00a0 figurative works.<\/p>\n

Between the discussion, the audience had the opportunity to engage in lively discussions about the themes and techniques of the writers’ and painter\u2019s works. The atmosphere was electric as attendees exchanged ideas, critiques, and recommendations for further reading.<\/p>\n

The last guest was Aleksy Wrobel \u2013 the poet well known to the Polish community in London \u2013 who writes about his emotions and personal experiences, and believes that his inspiration comes from a higher power or the universe.<\/p>\n

Aleksy, gifted not only in literature but also in acting, brilliantly presented his poems. It was a delightful spectacle that deserves to be called a little art performance.There have been many talented poets throughout history who have been able to captivate their audiences with their spoken word performances. One such example is Aleksy. Remi Juskiewicz’s repertoire includes many songs to the poems of the aforementioned poet, which he enchanted the audience that evening with; especially \u2018Dziewczyna z Oxford Street\u2019 (\u2018The Girl from Oxford Street\u2019).<\/p>\n

It’s wonderful to hear about the recognition of individuals who support Polish culture abroad. \u00a0Raza Syed’s(Brussels Independent) contribution to promoting Polish culture and raising awareness about its significance is appreciated by the Polish community and others who are interested in Polish culture. That’s why Agnieszka Kuchnia-Wolosiewicz (polish poet, writer and jurnalist) honor Raza Syed (famouse jurnalist lives in London) with the special\u00a0 certificate asigned by Tomasz Wieslaw Balcerowski – Vice Consule of The Polish Embassy in London and Zaneta Morawska who represents Polish comunity in Kettering.<\/p>\n

At the end, Ireneusz Piotr Chyla invited all the participants of the meeting to concert of Polish musician, Marek Dyjak, in POSK. He is a renowned Polish musician, known for his unique style of music that combines elements of rock, pop, and folk. He has gained a large following both in Poland and abroad, and his concerts are always highly anticipated events.<\/p>\n

The evening of art was truly remarkable, filled with a diverse array of artistic expressions that left a lasting impression on the audience. The Aleksy and Darek\u2019s poetry readings were soulful and emotive, bringing to life the intricate emotions and experiences of the poets. The writer’s literary works were equally captivating, painting vivid pictures of different worlds and times.<\/p>\n

About Zeller<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Dariusz Adam Zeller (1972) is a poet, writer, journalist, and social activist. He is the author of many literary publications and works. He made his debut in 1999 with the collection of poems Spojrzenia (WBP im. \u0141. G\u00f3rnickiego in Bia\u0142ystok). His latest book publications include \u2018Pocztowka z P\u00e8re Lachaise\u2019 (FONT, Pozna\u0144, 2020), \u2018Nauka czytania z pamieci\u2019 (FONT, Pozna\u0144, 2022), and a publication of poems in the Polish anthology \u2018Trzynascie pokoi\u2019 (2022) as well as the Polish-German \u2018Ulotnosc chwili\u2019 \u2014 DIE FL\u00dcCHTIGKEIT DES AUGENBLICKS (2023).<\/p>\n

His works have been published in literary magazines, poetry anthologies, almanacs, on literary websites, and in authorial publications. Together with Remi Juskiewicz, he organizes The London literary meetings. He co-created the literary group \u2018PoEzja Londyn\u2019.<\/p>\n

He is, among other things, a laureate of prestigious awards for the Polonia community: the Golden Owls of Polonia Award (known as the Polonia Oscars), awarded annually in Vienna to representatives of the world’s Polonia for their contribution to the lives of Poles outside the country. He was honored with the \u2018Edyta Felsztynska\u2019s Polonia Personality Award\u2019 \u00a0(Rome, 2022) \u00a0and also received the \u2018Golden Pen\u2019 (December, 2022) in Belgium by the International Association of Artists, Authors, Journalists, and Lawyers \u2018Virtualia ART\u2019 for work promoting Poland beyond its borders.<\/p>\n

He collaborates with publishing houses in Poland and Polonia communities worldwide.<\/p>\n

A great Musician\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Remigiusz Juskiewicz \u2013 polish musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, living in London for 20 years. He has been associated with the stage environment since childhood. His first instrument was the accordion. He graduated from the Songwriting Department at BIMM The British and Irish Modern Music Institute in London. From September 2019 he is a student at Kingston University in London, the faculty of Music Production (MMus in Production of Popular Music Cours).<\/p>\n

Remi is a composer of many songs that are the result of close cooperation with Polish emigres poets, mainly from Great Britain: Wies\u0142aw Fa\u0142kowski, Dorota Gorczynska-Bacik, Aleksy Wrobel but also with a poet who spent over 30 years in Belgium and France: Grazyna Wojcieszko and also living in Poland: Maria Duszka and Adam Gwara.<\/p>\n

In addition, he is also the author of music for the Katharsis theater operating in Dunstable near Luton in Great Britain.<\/p>\n

He has always been fascinated by the band \u2018The Beatles\u2019, but also as a source of inspiration he mentions American folk, bluegrass gospel, country, and next to the great Bob Dylan appears, equally great \u2013 Czeslaw Niemen, whose Belarusian and Russian folk songs sung with acoustic guitar accompaniment, remained in his consciousness and shaped his musical aesthetics.<\/p>\n
