“Mehbooba Mufti declares Jammu and Kashmir an ‘Open Jail’ Post 2019”

SRINAGAR, Jammu and Kashmir,(Indian Occupied Kashmir) – Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressed her concerns about the current state of Jammu and Kashmir. She described the region as an “open jail” following the repeal of Article 370 in 2019.

She voiced her worries about the ongoing house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the destruction of madrasas, and the perceived threat to the Muslim community. She emphasized her concerns about the future, stating that the issues that began on August 5, 2019, have not ceased and are still ongoing.

Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was seen offering prayers at the Hazratbal Dargah on Friday.

In a significant political development, Mehbooba Mufti announced that the PDP would be fielding candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This announcement came after Omar Abdullah, a leader of the National Conference (NC), declared that his party would contest all three seats in Kashmir.
