Erdogan condemns Netanyahu as ‘Gaza’s slaughterer’ in history

  • Turkey vows to use all possible means to make Israel answerable to international law and human conscience
  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the “butcher of Gaza”

ANKARA,Turkey: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the “butcher of Gaza” for his role in the ongoing war in the Middle East. Erdogan accused Netanyahu of carrying out the “most treacherous attacks in human history” against the Palestinians in Gaza, who have been under siege and bombardment since October 7.

“Their mosques have been bombed. Their schools have been reduced to rubble. The refugee camps where they have sought shelter have been deliberately targeted. Netanyahu has went down in history as the butcher of Gaza,” Erdogan said in a speech to parliament.

He also criticized the silence of most Western countries, except for a few, and vowed to hold them accountable for their indifference. “We will try to hold them accountable with all available means. We support our brothers and sisters in Gaza with all our might. The most important topic of our contacts is the war in Gaza,” he said.

He added that Turkey “will use all available means to hold the Israeli government accountable to international law and the conscience of humanity.”

The war in the Middle East erupted on October 7 when Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing and kidnapping civilians in Israeli border settlements. Hamas claimed its attack was a response to the Israeli aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has imposed a total blockade on the Gaza Strip and has been conducting air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also ongoing in the West Bank.
