Somon Air eyes Seoul route, Celebrates IOSA certification

DUSHANBE,Tajikistan/PR/ – The management of Somon Air, led by CEO Abdulkosim Valiev, held a meeting with Kwon Dong-seok, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan, and Kim Joon-seok, the Deputy Chief of Mission.They explored the possibility of establishing direct flight services between Dushanbe and Seoul. This move is considered a major step forward in strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Somon Air CEO, Abdulkosim Valiev, confirmed the airline’s commitment to the proposed service, stating, “As the flag carrier of Tajikistan, we stand ready to undertake all necessary measures to launch this route.” The conversation also covered the operational aspects of the planned direct flights between Dushanbe and Seoul.

Somon Air Successfully Completes Renewed IOSA Certification Audit

Somon Air has achieved the IOSA recertification, maintaining its status until March 20, 2026. The IOSA program, initiated by the International Air Transport Association in 2003, is recognized as the benchmark for airline operational safety. The renewal of this certification underscores Somon Air’s consistent compliance with stringent safety standards and its dedication to maintaining superior flight safety.

Somon Air currently maintains a broad network, linking Tajikistan with major international destinations including Germany, the UAE, Turkey, China, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The airline prides itself on its fleet of modern Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft, reflecting its commitment to offering reliable and secure air transportation.
