Lusail, Qatar (AP) December,18– Diplomatic delegations from the three host nations of the 2026 World Cup travelled to Qatar on Sunday for a handover ceremony ahead of the final between France and Argentina.
The United States, Mexico and Canada will host the most significant soccer events in three and a half years.
“We couldn’t be more excited. We are already gearing up for 2026 and look forward to welcoming fans worldwide.”
Qatar’s Sheikh Alia Al-Thani, the UN ambassador, said the current host country “sets the bar high,” Greenfield said.
“The most important thing to remember is that the World Cup goes beyond things and plays an extraordinary role in uniting people and nations and building lasting friendships.
The 2026 tournament will be held in 16 cities.
The schedule has been set as it has been planned to be organised that matches would be held 11 in the US, 3 in Mexico and 2 in Canada. Argentina won the title after beating France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in Qatar.
