Martyrs branded as Traitors: Altaf Hussain’s fierce critique

ؒLONDON,June 29/Correspondent/.Altaf Hussain, the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has condemned the branding of those who sacrificed for Pakistan as traitors and criminals. He vehemently criticized Pakistan’s military leadership during his address at the MQM UK chapter’s 46th Foundation Day of APMSO in London on Saturday.

Hussain expressed strong condemnation towards the treatment of those who sacrificed for Pakistan, labeling them as traitors and criminals. He emphasized that true freedom for the people of Pakistan could only be achieved by liberating them from the dominance of military generals.

Accusing the military and intelligence agencies of perpetuating ethnic divisions, Hussain highlighted the struggles of migrants forced to assimilate into Sindh. He alleged that the army and ISI deliberately fueled tensions, portraying MQM as hostile towards Punjabis and Pakhtuns.

Addressing MQM workers, Hussain criticized the manipulation of religious divisions in Pakistan, attributing it to the prolonged subjugation under British agents, generals, and landlords over 76 years. He asserted that Pakistan’s true independence hinged on freeing itself from military control.

While acknowledging the military’s role in national defense, Hussain stressed the importance of keeping it within constitutional limits and refraining from interference in civilian affairs. He opposed military involvement in politics, aligning his stance with that of Imran Khan, who prioritizes national defense without political intervention.

Furthermore, Hussain cautioned against Operation Azam Istakham, drawing from his own experiences in warfare. His remarks underscored his ongoing advocacy for a Pakistan free from undue military influence, promoting a balanced approach to governance and defense.
